Products / FRP Membrane Housing
FRP (fibreglass reinforced plastic) membrane housing manufacturer in China — corrosion-free fiberglass RO membrane housings and pressure vessels for 4040 and 8040 elements.
An FRP membrane housing (also written GRP membrane housing) is a filament-wound fiberglass pressure vessel that holds 4040 or 8040 RO membrane elements. Because the shell is a composite — continuous glass fibre bonded with epoxy resin — it never rusts and never corrodes in seawater, and it weighs roughly a quarter of the equivalent stainless steel vessel. That combination is why FRP housings have become the default choice for seawater desalination and large brackish-water RO plants.
Shandong Ningchuan Water Treatment Equipment Co., Ltd. manufactures FRP membrane housings in our own workshop in Linyi, Shandong, China. Every vessel is filament-wound under controlled tension and resin ratio, then cured, machined and hydro-tested before it leaves the factory — so wall thickness, roundness and pressure integrity stay consistent from the first unit to the thousandth.
We build 4040 and 8040 FRP housings for 1 to 7 elements, in 300 PSI (2.1 MPa) and 450 PSI (3.1 MPa) classes with higher ratings on request, using end-entry or side-entry connections with victaulic clamp or flange closure. Internal liners, adapters, thrust rings, end caps and O-rings can all be supplied with the vessel, and we build to your drawing for OEM and ODM orders.

Sizes and pressure classes for every RO duty
4-inch fiberglass vessel for small and medium RO skids, containerised units and light industrial pure-water lines.
8-inch vessel for large industrial and municipal RO plants; 1 to 7 elements per vessel.
450 PSI and higher classes built for SWRO duty, where corrosion resistance and low weight matter most.
Choose the layout that suits your skid — side port for compact piping, end port for classic RO racks.

An FRP membrane housing (also written GRP membrane housing) is a pressure vessel made from filament-wound fibreglass and epoxy resin that holds a 4040 or 8040 reverse osmosis membrane element. "FRP" stands for Fibre-Reinforced Plastic and "GRP" for Glass-Reinforced Plastic — they describe the same composite. The vessel keeps feed water on the high-pressure side of the membrane and directs permeate to the outlet.
Choose FRP when corrosion resistance, weight and cost are the priority: FRP never rusts, so it is the natural choice for seawater and brackish water, and it weighs about a quarter of the equivalent stainless vessel, which makes containerised and rooftop installations far easier. Choose stainless steel (SS304 / SS316L) when you need higher temperature, a sanitary polished finish for food, dairy or pharmaceutical duty, or the very highest pressure classes. Many SWRO plants use FRP vessels on the first pass and stainless steel where conditions are most aggressive.
Our standard FRP membrane housings are built in 300 PSI (2.1 MPa) and 450 PSI (3.1 MPa) classes, which covers most brackish-water and seawater RO duty. Higher classes (600 and 1000 PSI) are built on request for demanding SWRO applications. Every vessel is hydro-tested before shipment.
FRP is limited by the resin system rather than the glass fibre. Our standard vessels are rated for continuous service up to about 50 °C. If your process runs hotter, tell us at enquiry stage — we will either specify a higher-temperature resin or recommend a stainless steel vessel instead.
Yes. Head sealing assemblies, sealing plates, thrust rings, adapters, end caps, locking plates, permeate outlets and mounting saddles or clamps can all be supplied with the vessel, so your RO rack assembly arrives complete.
We accept trial orders from 1 piece. Standard 4040 and 8040 FRP housings ship in about 10–20 working days; custom lengths, ports and pressure classes take 20–30 working days. Send us your element size, element count and feed-water data and we will quote the right vessel.
